The Proximate Fund will nurture and build a thriving network of local investment hubs across the continent, available to African civil society and social entrepreneurs, who are best equipped to solve local problems.
Who We Are
We are a partnership of three organisations: African Philanthropy Forum, the Network for Empowered Aid Response (NEAR) and Adeso. Together, we have the skills, capacity, and credibility on the continent and internationally to drive the Proximate Fund forward.
What is the Proximate Fund?
The Proximate Fund is an investment fund for Africa, led by Africans. The Proximate Fund provides a new and innovative opportunity for high net wealth or everyday donors who want to contribute directly to building Africa’s future. It is a managed fund that will directly reach local and national civil society organisations and social entrepreneurs on the continent through a new funding infrastructure – known as Proximate “hubs”.
